Dumaguete 2025/26

From late December to early January, we dived at the Atmosphere Resort in Dumaguete. Most dives took place along the east coast of Dumaguete and around Apo Island, with a strong focus on muck diving and small marine life.

Typically, two-tank morning dives were offered, followed by additional afternoon dives. Those interested could also join a night dive, which is especially rewarding for observing nocturnal macro life.

We usually dived with a private guide. The small dive boats typically carried only four to five divers, allowing calm and very focused dives. In addition, the resort operates two large dive vessels accommodating up to 26 passengers, which are used, for example, for trips to Apo Island.

Most dive sites are dominated by sandy bottoms, while classic coral reefs are rather rare. These conditions make Dumaguete an excellent destination for macro and muck diving, where patience and careful observation are key.
